how do i install or open a RAR FILE???

    It's a compressed archive. WinRar is the native program, but you can also extract it with 7zip.

    Don't know about you, but I don't trust RAR files as in my experience most of them are used as a cover for spyware & viruses

    A rar file is just a archive, just like a ZIP file.

    I can only assume you have been downloading things illegally if what you downloaded was viruses etc.

    If you DL illegally, so can other file formats. ;) :rolleyes:

    If the rar archive is from a trusted source then there is no more risk than any other format.

    Saying that, with any archive scan it with an up to date AV before you extract it. And maybe scan again what was extracted after. Overkill maybe, but.............
