Where do people buy their wardrobes....

Hi all..
We're in desperate need of some new wardrobes and have checked out the usual suspects and can't seem to find anything good value/good quality - they're either the ikea stuff that'll not last very long IMO or very expensive.
Where did you get yours and how much did you pay?
We're looking for 2 sets of 3 single-wide (one each).
TIA, dan.

The Ikea PAX wardrobes come with a 10 year guarantee.
Although if you knew you were going to be taking them apart and putting them together multiple times over that period they might not cope with that!
If you are looking for ones to last 20-30 years you need solid wood ones I would say and they will cost you a pretty penny, especially for that size. :-(0 -
I have an ikea pax wardrobe and when bolted to the wall it's extremely secure and solid. Meant we put on the doors and shelves/accessorries drawers we wanted too.0

as with most things in life, there is no "cheap with quality" in furniture.
the best you can do is to try and find summat half decent at a cheap/er price.

Best value for quality furniture we have is from pinesolutions.co.uk (they got 2 links in one day from me today..shame i dont get commission)...we have their oxbury range of pine bedroom furniture which is pre-assembled (or part assembled with the wardrobes).
You always get what you pay for in the end..cheap and quality don't tend to mix!0 -
Hi
If you want proper designer bedroom furniture then you've just gotta go Italian!!
There are plenty of Italian makes out there but here is my favorit.

Another vote for Ikea Pax.
I even used it in my warehouse office, which takes a lot of bashing on a daily basis and it copes just fine. We have two doubles and a single bolted together which seems to make them far more rigid.0 -
thanks everyone for the replies. i might have to revisit the PAX range. They're not too bad in price.
The did have the ODDA range which was very sturdybut had tags to yank on rather than real handles - http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/901205740 -
Another vote for PAX. We've got them in all the bedrooms and perfect. They get some bashing with children and no problems at all. We've even modified some for the hall and they do get some daily heavy traffic as they hold all the shoes, coats etc..
I wouldn't hesitate to get them again.0 -
If you head to the "seconds" section of Ikeas, usually near the check-outs, you can get cheap pieces of PAX wardobes saving alot of money in some cases but they will have the odd scratch here and there0
