I have put a virus in quarantine - is that enough ?

I have had a look at the virus removal sticky but I am still a bit baffled.
My Norton found a virus on the weekly scan, so I quarantined it.
I run AVG, Spy Bot, Bug Doctor etc, but it was only Norton that found it.
Is putting it in quarantine enough or do I have to remove it ?
I went into my Norton Security but couldn't find quarantine anywhere to get the name of the virus and I can't remember it apart from it was in my C: in documents and settings.
Can anyone help or point me to the thread that will help ?
Thanks in advance

if it is in quarantine then it's fine
if it keeps getting found by norton then I'll talk you through getting into safe mode to get rid of it

I have not had a virus before, so everything it new to me
Don't get offended or feel like I am picking on you.
Do you ever read the manuals that come with software?

No, I am not offended. I do read manuals, but sometimes they still don't make sense to someone who is not computer literate.
I did not know to look under reports, but now I do and now I will delete it, thank you for showing me in laymans terms how to do it.
Computers are not my forte - but if you want to know how to get to Laos from China or the best places in Tibet to visit, then I am your woman. I give advice on the travel forums as a way of thanking people indirectly who have helped me on forums such as the techie one.
Everyone has there weaknesses, and computers are mine.****************************0 -
The good thing about quarrantine is that you can see if the virus is being replicated at any stage so if you have two of the same you know its doing just that.0

Ha offering me a date now, you will make Quincy jealous.
When you have a virus in quarantine, highlight it, action then delete.
Never had a virus, I always make sure I use a hash checker to verify my downloads.0
