Plumbing problem - little water pressure in bath tub taps!

Had a plumber round and somehow he has managed to mess up the water pressure to the cold taps in the bath.
The bath is upstairs and was previously supplied with 22mm cold and hot water pipes. The plumber moved the pipes around and has now made these 15mm and i think this could be the cause?
However, the hot water is very powerful. We have a combi boiler which is in an upstairs cupboard just above the height of the bath (if that is of any help?)
Is it the pipe size? Is it something else? Like perhaps air in the pipes that needs to be freed? (Yet another cowboy by the sounds of it! Was recommended through friends as well... DOH!!)

Has he forgotten to open fully the inline isolating vale in the cold water supply to the bath tap?I love my spell checker, it stops me making all sorts of stupid smelling mistakes. :doh:0

nope. thats definately not a problem. there are no iso valves fitted. just flexy hoses with iso valves on them. I thought I told you that Vee won't stop... :cool:0 -
Were the flexi hoses connected to the tap before, or are they new?
As the bore of a flexi hose is usually a lot smaller than a 15mm copper pipe, which will restrict the flow rate even further.I love my spell checker, it stops me making all sorts of stupid smelling mistakes. :doh:0 -

No, the flexy hoses are a new feature. Surely they wouldnt affect the flow THAT much though? I mean if we say the hot water is a "100" for flow, the cold is probably a "20" or "15" I thought I told you that Vee won't stop... :cool:0 -
GRRRRRRR! Just had a peek underneath... Eres the situation:
The flexy hose is pretty close to the tap connection beneath the bath. So the flexy hose which is 300mm long is stretching over just a 150mm gap. As a result, the JOKER (to put it kindly) has attached the cold flexy hose WITH A KINK in it!!
As the bath is only temporarily fitted - i raised the bath slightly to test this. The cold water flowed like a beauty! And just as i thought, the kink was the problem.
I dnt know... u just cant get the staff these days! I knew i shouldve done it myself!!!
(p.s. Thanks for all ur help mr meanie. Really appreciate it nonetheless.) I thought I told you that Vee won't stop... :cool:0 -
I just had a measure of a spare one in my goodie box, it's for a 15mm pipe and the bore at smallest is 6mm diameter, but yours could be different.
Edit
Ah, I still want 50% of the credit for guessing the right bit!I love my spell checker, it stops me making all sorts of stupid smelling mistakes. :doh:0 -

Kinking is a common problem with flexi tap connectors!
You should get all the credit Mr Meanie, as you would probably of asked if they were kinked, once you had ascertained that there was no isolating valve causing the restriction!0
