CMS Parking penlty charge - Ignore it?

Last night I had a prescription to pick up. The chemist is on a main road with no parking and it was rush hour. I went into the Medical Centre's car park next door, drove into a space, then noticed it said 'Doctors only', so I reversed back and parked in the space opposite. When I got out of the car, I saw it was a staff parking space. It was pouring with rain, dark and there were other staff parking spaces and doctor's spaces, but no patient's spaces so I decided to risk it and left the car there whilst I went into the chemist.
There must have been a parking attendant there at the time because when I got back, there was a notice on the car timed a few minutes after I left it.
It says its a 'Parking charge (on behalf of the landowner)' The 'crime' is that I was parked in a restricted area without a valid permit. They want £50 if I pay within 14 days or £80 for payment within 28 days.
I am right to just ignore it aren't I? Along with any letters that I may get from debt collectors etc?

put the letters they send in a box file, and when you feel down one day and want a laugh just read them again. as already been stated ignore themLast night I had a prescription to pick up. Thanks a lot, I just wanted to check!!
I saw it when I had got in the car, just thought a staff member had put a note on. It was still pouring with rain so I wasn't going to get out of the car to look at it. The wipers knocked it off and it was only when I got home and retrieved it from where it had attached itself to the bonnet that I got round to reading it.
Wasn't really worried as have seen on here that they aren't enforceable.
Thanks for the info, couldn't have afforded to pay it anyway.
I bet the 'parking attendant' thought he/she was going to get a Christmas bonus!!
I wonder....do they get a percentage of the 'fines'? Is that why he/she would have braved pouring rain to ticket me within minutes? Personally. I wouldn't have even got out in the rain to do it. I hope they got soaked!!0 -
Yep, CMS sell 'do it yourself kits'. You give out the tickets, send CMS a list of reg numbers each month and then you'll get a cut.
CMS are a feeble outfit and easy to ignore. I only got two letters and they gave up. I was a little disappointed at their poor efforts.0 -

Ah, that might explain why I got a ticket so fast then....perhaps one of the staff members was one of the ones with a 'do it yourself' kit, I bet they get quite a lucrative little cut out of that car park if the majority of the people just pay up.
I'm really glad I had seen on here that people don't have to pay.
Thanks everyone!!
I've not heard so much on here about CMS. - Think I might do the Christmas card thing - if I can be bothered!!0
