Nope, I am not on about indemnity insurance (chancel repair, restrictive covenant, lack of building regns etc etc).
I am on about insurance taken out against a seller pulling out after you've spent £££££s on surveys searches mortgage application fee etc, or against you having to pull out due to an adverse survey report.
About 15 years ago you used to be able to purchase this quite reasonably (under £100 for the average transaction) but I have not seen anyone offering this for quite a few years. I have googled but not been able to find a provider.
Has anyone any knowledge of an insurance provider in this field? I've got a sale and purchase (just at the issue of contracts stage) but have got very jittery feet about the chain (for reasons I do not want to go into on here) and would feel so much better if I could find a provider and sort a policy out to cover!

I'm afraid I can't help with your question, but had a related query - after my vendor decided actually he wasn't interested in selling. I've spent money on my mortgage fee, valuation, solicitors... I assume I have no come back on this? A lot of things that the estate agent told me turned out to be wrong (e.g. that there was no tenant) and they also gave out the wrong solicitor details which added to the hold ups. Can I pursue them for incompetence or should I just have expected that by the nature of their job? They really were useless throughout.0

I am with easier2move and they cover you if the seller pulls out. See their website and of course check their protection scheme.0

Caveat Emptor - Buyer Beware. No exchange of contracts, no comeback (on anyone!)
Estate Agent was not paid by you and therefore you have no claim against them.0 -
Thank you Astara - will go look!0
