Automatic Renewal for House insurance without permission!

I have just had my house insurance renewed without my permission!

I cannot remember Direct Line asking me about this. Watch out that yours isn't activated by default. I was told it was something to do with not waiting until the end of a recorded message or something like that. I think this may come out of one of the old ex 0% Credit cards I no longer use and is still activated for min repayments so that is something else to do.

Also forgot to mention to them, not to do the same with my car insurance.

Most insurers have their customers on auto-renewal. They will be sending you a renewal invite 21 days before hand and it will say in the covering letter that if you do nothing they will auto-renew you.

Do you pay monthly? You may find 'auto-renewal' in the small print of information you were sent on methods of payment.
