Most perturbed this evening as thought I'd pop into Waitrose after work and pick up a few bargains only to find they had closed at 5pm :o
Must keep up - the new year seems to have snuck up on me.
Whizzed round to Tesco, they closed at 6pm but had nothing in the way of bargains, not even shedloads of bread which you can usually rely on!
Ah well, will just have to gently drink myself into next year, contemplating the highs and lows.
Here's wishing everyone a better 2010 with plenty of MOCS for things we want to buy, some good freebies and comps - off topic or not - and a touch of humour to keep us all going.

    Hi everyone

Sorry to bring bad news to start the New Year but was told in Waitrose today that this was the last day I could use mocs without buying the product. I did mention that I had heard it was due to finish at the end of January but assistant said that as far as Waitrose are concerned it was today and that she had read a letter to this effect. I did forget to ask if it would be possible to use 3 coupons on the product like I have been doing previously so if anyone else has the chance to find this out I should be grateful.

For me this is probably the end of my Waitrose shopping as although it is a lovely place to shop, generally I think it is more expensive.

Just wanted to wish ALL my coupon buddies a Very Happy New Year.
It was good while it lasted prior to black friday & even with the few MOC available for items I do buy it's still a bonus.

Eat, drink & be merry. Stay safe.
    Hugs to you all.

I was forewarned also of this by my supervisor team at waitrose. They told me arond 5th december that like tesco it would end soon... (sometime after xmas). One of team leaders said it would end 'in the new year' a couple days ago too.

Shame... helped me 'save' while tesco stopped doing it. Oh well.. i was warned and I prepared as best as I could (stocked up food and toilet roll lol) ::T

Echo that, mm5, lovely to see Gill posting!:T

Really hope 2010 is happier for those of us who had a bad year. In my case, we had my Mum's death plus both me and OH had to get new jobs to make ends meet and make family life better - and it's been pretty difficult TBH.

I also got horribly trouted and dragged to CS desk yesterday - this was only my second visit to Tesco since back Friday!

I suppose I should have known better then expect T to know that they DO accept spend & save coupons from Sainsburys - oh, and Luncheon Vouchers. It's not rocket science for them to read their cashier's manual is it? I don't care at all if they know my username from reading this BTW, they should be ashamed of the way they treated me in a so-called 'Superstore'.

I won the 'battle' by showing the NINE looming CS dragons & male manager trouts the right page in their cashier's manual (big LOL!) but the 'war' is to be addressed in a letter of complaint to HO next week. I've had enough!

So my new year's good points:

    - My family, OH and children (including teenagers) are wonderful!

    - We both now have jobs we are happy in and fit better around the family.

    - The last month's bank account showed no overdraft used (at last!)!

    - We are all healthy (if a little heady from the wine we've just cracked open...).

    - My beloved footie team won the other day...!

    - After 'that' trouting I have decided not to give Tesco ANY of my money in 2010 (except if HO send me a gift card, that will be used on petrol)!

Look on the bright side. Happy New Year everyone!:T:T
