this bits very intresting. . . . . Reasons for policy change:

3, "Martin Lewis (Money Saving Expert spokesman) endorsing coupon misredemption ":eek::eek:

Please lay off the unjustified criticim of M. All he did was highlight the money saving opportunity that coupons provided. The fact that Tescum had a totally confused policy that led to some of there stores accepting coupons they should not have is Tescums responsibility, not M`s.
Couponstar does not want us dedicated money savers using coupons. They want the occasional buyers to try new products. That is why they are (indirectly) blaming us - via a criticism of M - rather than blaming Tescum. Big co.s hate M.

Just back from W's, got one of the last fresh Turkeys on the shelf, £50! my store is lovely and take half off in vouchers, my husband was so embarrassed, the turkey was all I was buying and the lovely girl merrily put through £25 of vouchers for me.

Good job I went early and nobody behind me.

Personally I agree with you, but I can see why others think the main catalyst was Martin. We will never know for sure as anything the Coupon companies and manufacturers say about it is worded carefully so as not to present them in a bad light.

Anyhoo, my Christmas shopping this year was done at Waitrose & the Co-op. :T

I ventured back to Tesco last night though(!) but the queues were ridiculous (why?) so I put my bread back on the shelf. I decided to go to the electricals desk only and use a conditional spend from the Co-op or Sainsburys, against a DVDs and some console games. I was told 'those vouchers were stopped ages ago'! Stood my ground, told them the difference between these and 'normal mocs. A phone call was made, then they decided 'well we would take one - but not against electricals'.

'So let me get this straight', I said. 'I could now just go & take this voucher to Sainsburys and buy an xbox game with it and they'd take it, as there are no restrictions on it against entertainment. But even though Tesco do still accept conditional spends, you won't take it?'

    'No'.

So I put the stuff back and off I went back to Sainsburys and bought one expensive xbox game and used my £8 off £40 at the till without a problem.

Unlike Tesco, there were no queues all the way up the aisles and no noticeable smells of armpit sweat and mouldy veg in there last night either!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
