As I use a Tesco credit card , fuel has to be 5p cheaper elsewhere to make it worth the trouble to drive further afield, alsoTesco is the closest filling station for me...1 point per£1 plus 1 point per £4 for using the card, makes 1 1/4 points x 4( in deals) that's 5p ...still a good deal.As for it not being as good , we were in the petrol business for 30 years, owning a couple of filling stations( one of which is now rebuilt as a Tesco Express)....we had regular customers who swore by Esso fuel, always saying they had problems with their cars if they filled up anywhere else...whereas we never bought Esso when travelling away from home as it was always the most expensive, we would always buy the cheapest we could find, and having been at oil terminals and seeing tankers being filled , it was the same stuff being loaded into different branded tankers, supposedly to have additives added later .... never had car trouble due to bad fuel ...with mechanics on hand our cars were always serviced regularly.
You are lucky if your Tesco has competitive pricing.
On a typical 52 litre fill up of Diesel at our local Tesco, at 114.9p  - it would cost me £59.74 and I would gain nearly 60 clubcard points. If we take an average worth and treble these, that's the equivalent of around £1.80 off or 3.5p a litre or 3%. I gain at least 5% on my mpg if I use other fuel (2 or 3p a litre less) so for me, I gain. You are probably better off with yours - swings and roundabouts I suppose.
When they had the 5p off fuel offer I always used it :rotfl:.

I understand what you are saying bully but the credit card bit doesn't really come into the equation if you use it to pay for fuel wherever you go - you still get the clubcard points. I haven't had a bad fuel problem but it has happened before - see here - (not just Tesco though - could be a supermarket thing). Clubcard points are also seldom worth 4 x the value unfortunately - they always quote "up to 4x" - I almost managed this last year when we went on our canal boat holiday where the price we paid in deals was the price we would have paid all bar £50, but a lot of deals are only worth 2x or 3x (depending what offers are around - e.g. restaurants where there is a BOGOF and whatever else you use them for).

I've been just pricing and comparing holidays to Egypt, with both Cosmos and Virgin in order to use my points...2 weeks with Virgin in 5* hotel £2200 using points knock off £1400 and pay £800, almost same holiday with Cosmos but in better hotel ( still 5* but higher rating on Trip Advisor)£1795 less £800= £995) not using points at all with Virgin £2400 with Cosmos £1850....Cosmos included airport transfers as well...can use points for cruise and stay with Cosmos but not with Virgin, so I think Cosmos have def got the message over the huge price difference they used to have re brochure price and Deals price...have not booked anything yet as am awaiting dates of daughters operation , need to be around to help out.0 -
Have just lost use of my old e-mail address which I used for all company signups.
Was looking at Magic freebies and they had a link today to Airwick. Signed up again with my new e-mail address but all other details the same and yippee it allowed me to print another £2 voucher valid until 14 Feb. Prints in the middle of the page. Forgot to try F5 option.
Thanks for this. I just tried another e-mail addy and also managed to print 1 coupon. F5 didn't work on this one.So your answer don’t be scared of failure
For the only failure is never to try

No comparable difference to standard diesel, apart from being gentler on the engine, smells nicer, and the MOT chaps have trouble getting any kind of a CO emmission reading, since it is much cleaner burning, and less polluting;)
