ScottishPower - Online Energy Saver 7 rate.
Can someone tell me where I can find the current rates for this tarrif?
I understand they can change it and not tell you about it.
The rate on the switch site seem to be at odds with the rate I found on the
Scottish power site.
I understand there is a Scottish Power rep here.

Three clicks from the front page of the Scottish Power site leads to:
http://scottishpower.co.uk/mediaassets/doc/Online%20Energy%20Saver%207.pdf
And the clicks are hardly obscurely labelled (View our prices>Online Energy Saver 7>Click here for the pricing info...)I understand they can change it and not tell you about it.
No they can't, not really. And not in any way that is different from every other supplier and tariff in Britain. That is when they do tell you about a price change it can be dated from up to three months before but if you are unhappy you can tell them within fourteen days of receiving the note that you do not agree and you can then switch to a different supplier. All energy will be charged at the original prices. The rate on the switch site seem to be at odds with the rate I found on the

Identify the switching site, please.0 -

Yes I found that myself however these are the price quote on the switch sites
Unit prices
Gas3.487p per kWh2.352p per kWh above 4572 kWh p.aElectricity15.88p per kWh10.34p per kWh above 900 kWh p.a
http://www.uswitch.com/gas-electricity/directory/scottish-power/further-information/?Products=120007,120041&Rte=FurtherInformation&Tab=Product&TabS=ProductDetails&Ful=True&Cost=493.80&Saving=.00
It does seem to match for the gas but not the electricity, possible because
my area, east midlands, is not listed on the electricity chart!!
I looked for electricity first hence I could not find a rate.
The tarrif has an exit penalty, can you point me to the wording into the contract about price changes. I have seen similar contracts where isays thye will just publish the chage on their site (ie not inform you), obviously that is not fair or appropiate. (to a normal person).
anyway given that they all bought all thier gas at the peak of the market two years ago, there
should not be a need to rise prices, indeed a 25% drop is long overdue.
I understand the USA managed to half their price, but then a lot of their customers have access to high powered hunting rifles, and pictures of the directors.......

Hi Capistan
To keep yourself right the ScottishPower website publishes all gas and electricity units rates per tariff and per region. Follow the link below to access the Product Price page and then select the relevant tariff:
http://www.scottishpower.co.uk/Home_Energy/Product_Prices/
In relation to any price change while you are with ScottishPower I would refer you to Part 2 section 5.8 of our Terms & Conditions for domestic customers which states:
If we increase the price or vary other terms of the Agreement to your significant disadvantage we will notify you of that within 65 Working Days of the increase or variation taking effect. If you do not accept the increase or variation you are entitled to end the Agreement by giving us notice to end the Agreement, within 10 Working Days of receiving the notification from us. If you give us that notice, the increase or variation will not take place. However the increase or variation will come into effect if, within 15 Working Days of you giving that notice to us, we do not receive notification through the relevant supply industry processes that another supplier will begin to supply the Premises within a reasonable period of time after that notice has been given by you.
The full Terms & Conditions for domestic customers can be viewed by following the link below:

I hope the information provided has been useful. Let me know if I can be of further assistance.
Kind Regards

Hi Capistan
I like your style. It was worth a try. Unfortunately not free in your area (although I did double check).
If you are in the East Midlands area this will come under the Supply Area Code 11. You will also be able to confirm this by looking at the front top right hand side of your ScottishPower statement where it states "Your Electricity Supply Number is:" The 13 digit number should start 11.....!
Let me know what you do not understand about the price increase Terms & Conditions and I'll try my best to clarify this for you. I appreciate it is worded in legal terms.
Kind Regards

Why I would like to know is why you do not list the East Midlands region, how
do you expect your other customers to be able to find out what they are being charged?
Anyway basiclly if 11 is the East Midlands they why doesn't it say East Midlands,
given that you are, and the other energy companies are vastly overcharging (as gas prices halved six months ago) I am sure you could employ somone to do the bare minimum the *law requires* you to do?
AMybe OFGEM will launnch a pliminary and inquiry in 6 months time and take further action is you have not complied six months after that.
By the way what is the current excuse for not droping your prices?
Have the cartel agree one yet, in consulation with OFGEM?Toffs laying into the less well off? Surely not!!

Hi Capistan
If you look at section 1 on the pricing leaflet, it explains how to find your local 'Supply Area' as this can be found on the first page of your electricity bill.
Your supply area of often referred to as either East Midlands or Powergen. The explanation is there to assist customers who cannot identify there area immediately by the Supply Area name. Hope this helps in future.
Our prices are reviewed on a regular basis to ensure we remain competitive within the market and you will be notified of any change.
Kind Regards
