The reference is not on page 2 of your bill under the header "Your electricity supply number"?

No, it is not. The last few numbers that fill the final boxes of the MPAN are quoted, the first three set of numbers are not present on the bill anywhere.

This is information I put in my post yesterday evening, it is quite clear. Do all BG employees attempt to rile customers, is that part of your training? BG employees, re-read your posts, look at it from a customer viewpoint, and see if you think your responses are helpful or could they be construed as taking an employee high ground? Not exactly what I would call good customer service, if you put in your tag you work for a company which you are defending you should at least make an attempt to be professional when replying in public.
  • So if we took BG out our signature you would treat people with more respect. No matter what you may think this is a public form for people to help people with matters they might not understand.

Just try and remember your speaking to a person not just a BG employee I am here to enjoy the forum and help who I can.

Like you were so fast to tell us to re read your posts have a look at page 2 of your bill as smidgey says you may be plesantly suprised

To address these items in turn.

1 - If you post with a tagline you are employed by a company, expect to be an ambassador for that company. I will not treat anyone with a lack of respect, providing they treat me with respect.

2 - If you do not wish to represent BG in an official manner, remove the tagline you are a BG employee. So long as you have that tagline, I expect to be dealt with in exactly the same way as if I wrote you a formal letter or spoke to you by telephone at one of your call centres. I will never speak to you in a rude fashion, I will respond how BG employees have responded to me so far. Which is pretty disrespectful I have to say.

3 - Short of scanning all my bills, I do not know how many times I have to tell you I have an incomplete MPAN. The reference is printed very clearly, the letter S with three blank boxes at the top, and populated fields at the bottom. The blank boxes should have numbers in them, they do not. I do not know why you do not believe me, but your printed bills in my example are erroneous.

What I will say is if someone replies as a BG employee, I expect you to treat me with the same respect as if I am telephoning and it is a recorded call. I can quite easily highlight this thread to the BG executive office and they can contact the moderators to obtain IP addresses in order to individually identify people posing as BG employees and who exactly they are. It has been done across many forums many times before. I do not want to do this, I want to be treated with respect in exactly the same way I spoke to the woman earlier in the week. I was IGNORED and instead I was spoken at, not to.

The two BG employees on this thread, I must tell both of you whilst you may be sticking up for your employer, you are making a bad situation infinitely worse from a customer viewpoint. It is very saddening there have been so many chances for you to either improve the situation by acknowledging you made a mistake and will learn from it, or at least state my situation is not the norm and you are very sorry.

To almost blatantly call me an outright liar that I must be wrong, the MPAN must be present (when it most certainly is not), to intimate I may have been abusive to your call centre worker when I actually over-compensated in being nice so as not to offend someone at the start of their working day whilst trying so hard to get what I needed from them against all odds, the BG employees on this thread would do well to either acknowledge this and accept what I am saying - or the alternative remove your taglines and not mention who you work for, then you are no longer publicly responsible for them.

Keep the taglines though, and I expect the same level of service as I would if I printed this thread out and posted it as a complaint to your executive office.
  • I am not an ambassador for the company I simply work for them and any views shared by me are not shared by the company. ( I was asked to include this as I work in a industry which this forum covers).

This is a social forum in which I post I invite you to send this to my "employers" as all I have said is th girl is only doing my job and would be telling you this if I worked for EON EDF SSE any of them. In this you state sticking up I was for the company no I was just telling you she is doing her job set by her employer

You talk about me saying I have made cutomer service worse I am not employed to serve you on this forum I only pointed out the lady would have been doing her job if you feel so strongly towards this please persue the lady who has annoyed you.

You state I could improve the situation by saying I made a mistake any idiot reading this thread could see I have done nothing but tell you the agent was doing her job and were the number was. Me or any BG employee made no mistake.

  • You only need the "bottom line" of the MPAN to switch. I know there are regs enforcing the printing of the bottom line on bills, not sure about the top though.

I asked you a simple question as you may have overlooked the information. If the MPAN isn't present then it's clearly a fault within the system and needs to be addressed. However you assume I was calling you a liar which I was not and then proceeded to rant about employees posting here. I will no longer post in your thread, good luck with your new supplier.
