Hi!

Four of us are travelling Peterborough- Liverpool on Sat 02/01/10 back the next day.

I'm confused on how to find the cheapest way to travel.

Can anyone offer any advice please?

Mel

Mel, have a read of this article.

Then see what you can find and post it here.

There are plenty of people who are only too happy to help you, but you are more likely to get help if you show that at least you have tried yourself.

  • Why not ask for the cheapest fair at the train station? Just dont go to one of those dodgy sites like thetrainline.

    Ooops... now corrected. :o

    Try again Mel.
  • Oh! that a busy and expensive time to travel, but you can get a 10% discount from East Coast trains if you travel on their Advance tickets which brings the price down to £44.95 per adult return (£19.60+25.35) but travelling at Very late or Very early but there is other times and prices. Look for the *discounted fares on there website

But if you fancy a challenge then split at Stafford
Peterborough to Stafford - Stafford to Liverpool LS and look for the advance singles but give yourself plenty of time to make your connections (30-45mins)

    Total £23 per person return

and buy from a Train Company to save fees

Another option to split is Birmingham NS but this takes the price to £34 per person return but has more trains to choose from

Thank you so much! All this has really helped. I'm saving nearly £20 a person from what I was doing! x
