BT box causing damp - HELP!!!!!!

Options
The Bt exchange box on the side of my house is causing damp in my bedroom, where do i stand on trying to get the repairs paid for by BT? Do I have the right to tell BT to remove the phone exchange? Would it be covered by my household insurance?

Andy

Sure its not virgin exchange box as opposed to a BT one?.

Are you on Virgin own phone line or using a BT line If the latter Virgin should be able to contact open reach to checkout the problem.

If its a virgin own phone and its not there box they won't have anything to do with it.

Who your phone is with is irrelevant, if it's a BT box on the wall then you deal with BT. However the BT customer call centre won't be anything to do with it, I think it's BT Openreach who provide the network and you'll need to contact them if the box is causing a problem.

I might be missing the point but surely whoever you pay line rental to need to be informed, they will then send someone out who will discuss the options. You will then probably move the box and they will send yoy a bill for doing the job.

It depends if the OP using Virgin own phone cabling or BTs. Is there a public number for open reach?
