Is it worth buying a screen protector for my new camera?

Father Christmas has just bought me a new camera for Christmas. Is it worth buying a screen protector for the LCD? Will it wrinkle up and spoil the screen? Peel-off leaving a sticky residue?

Any recommendations for good screen protectors?

Thanks!

They can be a pain to apply without getting air bubbles under them but they do protect screens. There will be no residue when removed. I've only ever used what's cheapest on eBay.

Why not just buy a case for it?

you should be able to find a slim one that won't add too much to the weight and size, and it'll protect the screen when it's not in use. It'll also provide some protection should you drop it.
  • Depends on the camera really, will it affect the view of the LCD? (glare from the sun etc) Quite a few modern cameras have pretty decent protection for the LCD built in already, but of course there is always the threat of scratching.

How much was th camera? How likely are you top replace it in the near future?

Pesonally I've never bothered with screen protectors on cameras, phones or DS Lites. I've never had a problem yet.

As Marty said get a decent case for it. LowePro make some good ones..

Nor me, I've never really seen the point of them.
