Boiler needs replaing and can't get a credit card till after xmas!!!

Hello,

Just as the cold weather has set in my boiler has decided to give up the ghost. After much searching I have found a replacement. The replacement can be purchased online but as i haven't used this website before i'd like to protect myself by using a credit card. Unfortunately I haven't got a credit card and when i applied the company said I probably wouldn't get it till after christmas. By then the rest of my family would of left home due to the cold. I was hoping to use my son's credit card but he can't increase his limit till after christmas. Does anybody have any suggestions on how i can go about buying this while protecting my purchase? Or should I just increase my clothes layers and dig in till the card arrives? Thanks.

Well according to this websites there are a few prepaid credit cards which offer purchase protection

that might be an option if you have the cash to load onto it.

I wouldn't be too impressed if my dad condemned the family to a freezing christmas!! Is there no other, more reputable website you could buy it from?!

Thanks for that. I looked at the overview of pre-paid and assumed they didn't offer protection but i will look further. Have just found out that my son can increase his limit if i credit his account with the extra cash. Regarding a more reputable website i'm sure the company is but i just want to be (warm) and secure. Maybe the cold is making me paranoid! Thanks again.

if you have the cash already then surely someone else in the family/friends will let you use their CC?
