Hello,
Just had to share my experience to see if anyone knows what is going on / had the same.
I signed up to do Mystery Shopping and this week got my first assignment. I read up on all the instructions and duly headed off to Mothercare this afternoon ready to earn an easy £15.:j :j :j
The assignment was for GE and all about checking that the assistants tell you all the right information when applying for an account card with that store. The trouble is that when I asked about it the (very nice) shop assistant told me that Mothercare don't do account cards and haven't for about 2 years. All they do now is a loyalty type card where you have to spend over £100 to get £10 back. My instructions said to get about £40 worth of stuff so it can't be that I was meant to ask for that card.
Now I am confused... this seems like a really basic error for the Mystery Shopper people to make.... and the worst bit is that because I wasn't able to complete the shop I won't be able to claim my full £15.....
Am I missing something here or was I given really duff instructions?
I will never make my fortune at this rate!

Hi
Cant help you with this one - but would you be kind enough to pm me the details of the company as I would love to earn extra cash by mystery shopping
Thanks0 -
I would speak to the mystery shop company straight away and explain the situation, they will have to talk to Mothercare/GE to see whats gone on. They might still pay you anyway, or re-schedule or something.
Which mystery shopping company did you use? TNS and Grassroots are both good.

I have called and left a message for them to call me so hopefully something will get sorted.

Hello
I did a mystery shopping assignment with Retail Eyes, I went to a Subway and ordered a sandwich, it was yummy and free, got £10 for doing it, had to complete a full report, and their instructions were very precise and through, haven't done it since, seems a bit too much effort for me personally!
I would defo ring the company though and have a word with them.
Hope it gets sorted.Became debt free in 2007 after having £15k of debt. Have been a stranger to MSE and now want to get back into my old MSE habits and save, save, save0 -
Can i have the details too please.
I have regustered with Grassroots and Retail eyes. But after filling in a major questionaire from TNS they said I was not successful so not sure what you have to do to get on their books.
Also my friend has a store card with Mothercare but not sure how long she has had it.
You should get paid as you kept up your part of the shop.£2 saver club, over £200 now:

For recent mystery shoppers, it might be an idea to read through your terms of employment. Just about all companies that use mystery shoppers have strict client and company confidentiality agreements that you agree to when you apply. These prohibit discussing clients in any shape or form with anybody, least of all on a public forum. It would be best if you edited your posts to remove client names and details of fees, as the companies concerned would not be happy about these being posted.
Just a bit of friendly advice from a seasoned mystery shopper!!0
