Hi,
I have a Guitar Amp thats gone a bit faulty and its well within its 5 year warranty but the shop I bought it from has gone bust about 2 years ago. Ive emailed the parent company (Crate in the USA) with no response and also UK dealers of Crate but only had one reponse teling me to take it back to the shop I bought it (which is now a building site!).
The company I bought it from (Sound Control) has been reborn as another company. Do I have any come back on them?
I have all receipts and warranty info and paid on Credit Card if that makes any difference.
Thanks in Advance for any suggestions.

Who is the warranty with?
BTW nothing goes "a bit faulty", its either faulty or it isn't.0 -
a five year warranty is likely to be with the manufacturer. I would expect deals in the instructions etc0

Warranty is with manufacturer in USA. Chain of shops where I bought it has gone bust. No other "official" seller of the brand wants to know in the UK. They only have two registered distributors. I have asked them for their advice.
Its a minor fault but still a fault clearly covered in the 5 year warranty.
Thing is the Amp is a half stack and is enormous. As I don t know exactly where the fault lies I would possibly have to send the whole thing to the states (thats assuming they respond). It might cost £100-£200 just to send. And it seems ludicrous to have to do that when they have UK agents. But why would the UK agents take responsibility for something they didnt sell????
I suppose I call the US manufacturer and see what they advise.0 -

Because they are the agents for the manufacturer and presumeably responsible for administering the manufacturers warranty, if it is indeed worth the paper its written on.
The warranty is "official". Its even transferable to any other owners asd they a proud of the stuff they sell.
Ive sent another email asking for advice....Im not holding my breath but will make sure I slate them on every review site going should I not get a response....including their distributors.

Did you buy it on a credit card? If you did it may be worth contacting your CC company to see if you are covered by them.GC Jan £318/£350, Feb £221.84/£300, Mar £200.00/£250 Apr £201.05/£200 May £199.61/£200 June £17.25/£200
