What the engineer probably ment is that it would be uneconomical to complete flue repair... Its very easy to slag off BG engineers on the internet witout seeing the jobs and lets be honest most of these posts are exagerated by customers who dont know what a flue is!!!
Most of these keston boilers are flued under floors or though voids so it will mean a lot of mess, time & expence! Bg are not the cheapest but we our enineers are honest men tring to make a living for our familys too, just like you lot!

BG were always very good to me, they repaired my crappy boiler year after year after year, until it became very obvious even to me that it needed replacing.

When I got my new one (local tradesman not BG) he told me my flue was illegal!
