Nationwide Classic Card - will I be charged for spending?

My new credit card is a Nationwide Classic Card, with 13 months 0% on ballance transfers and 3 months 0% on purchases. The main reason I've got this card is to slowly pay off an existing debt of 2000.00 over the next 13 months (the balance transfer has now been accepted). I need to make a purchase within my 3 months 0% offer and can afford to pay it back (125GBP) the following week when I get paid. Will I be charged interest on this purchase?Or should I consider finding the money elsewhere? Thanks!

  • Nationwide is the only card provider that I know of, which allocates payments in a way that will be favourable to you.

So yes, you can charge the purchase to the card, and once you pay, it will go to clear that debt first before the balance transfer.

Isit in the T+C's you have to make a purchase?!
If so, yes you would be charged interest on a retail purchase after 3 months.
You will continue to do this until the balance transfer+Retail balance has been paid in full. Search credit card payment hierachy will throuw up a few results.

Thanks for this firsttimestudent - I knew I'd read that that was how Nationwide worked in terms of paying off debts but wanted to be absolutely sure before I do it - there's nothing worse than realising you've just cost yourself more money and hassle!!
