Get a Live.co.uk email address / passport early

One for you (very) early adopters.

For those that don't know, Microsoft are moving a away from the Hotmail/MSN brand to the Live band

Please don't use an existing passport in case something goes wrong.

I'm not sure if this means you can bag yourself a great live.co.uk email address of if it's linked to hotmail accounts (and if so all the good ones are already taken)

When you're done go to mail.live.com to pick up your email

I just did it and i have a nice [EMAIL="xxxxxx@live.co.uk"]xxxxxx@live.co.uk[/EMAIL] email address

(If you leave it on United States you get @windowslive.com)

Just tried it and it no longer works - see comment #34. Looks like MS have fixed the hack.

I noticed the hack didn't work earlier as well. The only bonus (a complete shock) was my first choice hotmail name went through first time! I was amazed at this!!! I thought all the plain names (no numbers etc) had gone.

Oh well, at least I got another spam account with a decent name.
