Talk Talk Broadband problem.

I can't figure this one out....
DSL6420r by D-Link.
The internet works fine for about 10-15 minutes than cuts out.
I have a feeling it may be something to do with the Advanced ADSL setting on the router...
Or it could be an ISP issue....
The settings available are:

1)Modulation Mode. Auto sync up, ADSL 2+, ADSL 2, G.DMT, T1.413 and G.lite....
It is currently set to Auto sync up.....

2) Type. ANNEX A, ANNEX I, ANNEX A/L, ANNEX M and ANNEX A/I/J/L/M. Currently set to ANNEX A...

Bitswap and SRA are both enabled

I can't find anything specific about this on the internet I did try.......

P.S has anybody else had problems with Talk Talk over the last few days?

Do you know if it's your router's connection to the net which is dropping or your computer's connection to the router?

You should be able to see how long your router has been connected for within the router configuration page. If it's saying a few hours and you've been connected for days you may have a line fault.
  • Are you on LLU? If so, try changing to ADSL2+ as that what I was told to go onto when I was having problems with a dropping connection.

If that doesn't solve it, register on here and they'll investigate it for you. Probably a bit late to get a reply now, but you should get one tomorrow sometime.

  • It's normally caused by an incorrect profile. Have they adjusted anything for you yet?

Usually, they'll put you on a 15dB profile to begin with as the instability is caused by too much noise/interference on the line. (The further away from the exchange you are, the more noise.) Therefore, if your profile is too low i.e. 6 or 9, the noise causes it to cut out.

  • What does it say against your exchange in this list?

  • Not sure how well you'll get on with that, as customer service on the phone is useless! Generally, they are much more efficient online.

Seems to have sorted the problem out...
Increased the line Db, took a speed hit, but the connection is now stable...
