No personal experience of the coach station, but from having a quick look at a city centre maps it seems to be within walking distance of Birmingham New Street station, so a train from there to Birmingham International would be an option....0

I agree with p00hsticks. The best way to get to the nec is by train. and Birmingham New Street is the station to travel from. There are two other train stations Moor Street and Snow Hill, but New Streeet is the one with a regular service to Birmingham International which is where the NEC is0

... although using travel line, it looks like a 97/97A bus from the coach station will also take you there

(the locations you need to enter are DIGBETH COACH STATION and NATIONAL EXHIBITION CENTRE)0 -
Don't take the bus, you'll be on it for ages. The traffic in and around Digbeth is a nightmare, even more so at this time of year.
A quick hike up to New Street station and 15 minutes (at worst) on a train and you'll be there.0
