Carpet grippers

I am having a carpet fitted and carpet grippers.When the carpet grippers are installed do the nails go through the floorboards or can shorter nails be used as i have pipes running under my floor ?

    They're just tacked into the top of the boards. No need to worry unless you have very thin floorboards!

    floorboards are 2cm thick

    Thats normal - you'll be OK, just use the nails that come with the rods.
