YAY i got my 1st "fine"

i went to a retail park in mansfield today, the parking is run by excel.

you can park free for 30 minutes, but you still require a ticket from the machine, by the time i had walked to the machine and back i had a "fine" on my windscreen.

i promptly walked over to the parking attendants cabin and stuck his "fine" on the cabin window.

i then went shopping for 20 minutes.

when i got back to my car, he had replaced the original "fine" and also attatched a second one.

i know i can freely ignore these fines, but can i look forward to 2 lots of threats from them and "debt collecters" or will they be stupid enough to try and claim both tickets on one invoice?

i look forward to receiving there letters, they will be great for the bottom of the cats litter tray

  • I wonder how many times you can stick them on his cabin before he gives up?

We have to be careful around here because the car park at ASDA and Morrisons are both county council ones. So if we get a fine there, it really is a fine.

The County Council wouldnt sell the parking land adjacent to the land which they were building on so the CC police the car parks.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

A word of caution, I would just remove the location from your post and any reference to who was driving...it's always best not to mention who the driver of the car was - even on a forum like this. Information from forum websites has been used in Court before now...

But apart from that, well done! :D

TBH if we all set out to deliberately collect tons of these tickets it would be a brave move - but would be worth it to seriously affect PPCs' percentages.

I keep trying to get one in the local G24 car park to me where I work. 45 minutes free then a £75 "fine".

    No luck so far.

I like to collect all the paperwork, photocopy it and scrub out personal details and then actually post it to the portakabin with a note.

Just to let them know that they are wasting their lives really.
  • if i get another i will get a picture of it stuck on the cabin window, or even better, stuck on the parking attendant:rotfl::rotfl:

    What would happen if....

You put a notice in your windscreen along these lines:

"WARNING - PARKING CHARGE NOTICE RESPONSE FEE
In the event that a Parking Charge Notice (or other similar charge) is attached to this vehicle, the owner will charge a fee of £100 (reduced to £50 if paid within 14 days) to respond to the charge notice. The issuing of a Parking Charge Notice will be deemed to agree acceptance of these terms."

Now, the owner can "reply" simply stating that they will not say who was driving. The PCN will have taken a positive step in recognition of the charge. Will they pay up?
Well, of course not, but it could be fun.
