The bbc are saying that you need a tv licence if you can recieve broadcasts on your pc.
If you had a television which could recieve a signal then you had to have a licence, if you have a tv card in your pc you also need a licence and now also with your mobile phones.
All of these are bought with the intention of watching tv. If you didnt, you had an alternative (ie tv with no reciever, pc with no tv card and mobile phone without ability to watch tv)
Now how are they going to make you pay for a licence if you have an internet connection. Many have it before tv could be recieved via it. Most people will never watch tv via it and its not as if theres a tv free alternative.

Smile and be happy, things can usually get worse!

I dont actually know the in's and out's of tv licensing. Do you need a license for each device that can recieve a signal or just one to cover the whole household?I'm better off without you.0

whole household. I believe it even covers you for a television you may have in a mobile home. However it definately doesnt cover students away from home (thats what all the adverts say!).
