Glad it went ok for you both. You are now that bit further along in the BR process and although you will have to wait for decisions on certain things at least thats one stage over with.
We never felt completely relaxed after our interviews, in fact when I began to receive correspondence from the OR the sight of the white envelopes made me feel panicky and nervous (not sure why really, I hadnt done anything wrong!!) And when I had to phone them a couple of times I was shaking like a leaf. I am normally fairly confident but that goes out the window where OR is concerned!!
I hope you feel better in yourself. Glad that parts over for you now.

hey dojoman
i'm glad it's done for both of you
it is so nerve wracking as you just don't know what they'll ask! there were a couple of things i didn't know...but you can only do your best!
i hope you and your wife can try and have a nice evening together...try and put it out of your mind. well done x0 -
On the gambling point, it is only a bankruptcy offence to lose money to gambling not just to gamble. So if you havent lost any money then you should be ok. Obviously when they hear the word gambling it is going to ring some bells and will be investigatedHi, im Debtinfo, i am an ex insolvency examiner and over the years have personally dealt with thousands of bankruptcy cases.
Please note that any views i put forth are not those of my former employer The Insolvency Service and do not constitute professional advice, you should always seek professional advice before entering insolvency proceedings.0 -
Hi DI, thanks for that bit of info. Out of interest what are the penalties for gambling losses, and how much do you have to lose and over what period of time?:pB&SC No. 298

as with anything there are no set amounts, the main poits to consider with any bankruptcy offence are whether the amount is large, is it material to the overall debts, how close it was to the bankruptcy and how relevent it was to advice received, ie if you are told by the CAB you are insolvent and should go bankrupt and then do something wrong it is more serious, if you havent received advice you get into a whole world of when is it reasonable that someone should have known that they were in trouble.
also since BRO's are for 2-15 years there is a range of how cynical someone has to be to get one.
also the reason they are there are to protect the public or the bankrupt not really as a punishment, so if someone was 95 years old would it really be worth giving a BRO even if they had done something horrendousHi, im Debtinfo, i am an ex insolvency examiner and over the years have personally dealt with thousands of bankruptcy cases.
