There is a street light attached to my house which is excouncil . I been here 6 years and the house been excouncil for around 20 years. Until now the council have replaced the bulb when necessary. Recently i rang council asking for the bulb to be replaced and they said because house is excouncil they not responisible (there is a passage way at side of house and the light provides lighting for it). As far as i understand the light isn't mine so i decided i want the light off my proporty cause it is causing me some grief. How should i go about doing this. Should i try get a copy of the title deeds to begin with. And perhaps go and see my local councillor for advce on how to get the light removed legally.

You should speak to the local councillor - he'll know who to speak to about it.
It sounds to me unlikely they can just dump the street light on you as a problem.
You don't pay the leccy for it?
Your deeds might have some info in about it.0
