Paying work for a 13 year old

I know there are legal restrictions about the number of hours children of this age can work, and the kind of things they can do, but I do not know what these are in detail. I suspect if you phoned your local Children's Services department they could give you chapter and verse.
As for ideas, I used to babysit at this age, but now that I am a parent myself I wouldn't dream of leaving my kids with a child this young! I also delivered leaflets for my father's business which was hard work and very poorly paid. Car washing sounds like a good one though, or maybe some light gardening?0 -
I did a paper round from age 13 and babysitting from about age 15. My sister did a paper round and worked at the local karting centre from about age 13/14.
