I went to America at the start of November'04 I got the deal off a similar website to this. It was with United Vacations through first choice. £650 for 10 nights (3 in LA, 4 in Vegas, 3 in San Fran) all in 4/5 star hotels. Price included room and 6 flights in total from a regional uk airport.

It was warm enough for me 68-70°, but November is the start of the cheap prices.

I met a friend there who stopped in vegas off-peak (ie mon to thurs) on the strip for $29 per room p/night (approx £16)

I can see why they call it America's playground, its fantastic.

    Good luck and enjoy 8)

We've been to Vegas 3 times and always booked the flights/hotels/cars separately. If you think you've found a good hotel deal always check the hotels own website before booking, surprisingly they frequently they offer the cheapest advertised rate. As the prev poster said fantastic hotels can be got for very cheap rates (provided you're travelling off peak, i.e. when there are no conventions in town).

If you're really brave try bidding on https://www.priceline.com - but take a good long look on https://www.biddingfortravel.com to understand how it all works first, we just got back from Florida and booked 4 different hotels by priceline bidding and paid an average of 40% of the best advertised price for each room, all where superb and one even upgraded us ;D

I always spend a few days downtown first (old Vegas, also called Glitter Gulch) - here the Golden Nugget is my fav. Be warned, it is more sleezy/adult orientated than the Strip.

On the Strip (about 5 miles away) which is more family friendly, new modern and even more false (think disneyland with gambling) I've stayed at (from best to worst) Venetian, MGM Grand, Luxor and Excalibur. I'd love to try Belagio but have never found a good deal on it.

Last time I was there (summer 03) some of the older properties where looking a bit dated (e.g. Circus Circus, Treasure Island). Its always worth checking reviews on tripadvisor for up to date info on your chosen hotel.

Overall, you need to do your own research, maybe you will find a package at a better price than booking your own, but particularly in Vegas, I'd be very surprised if you did.

Have a great time, if you like trashy glitz & glamour (in a good way :o) its quite a place, but don't expect much peace & quiet ;)

I'm going to Vegas in May and after doing some research from the threads found on here it was cheaper to book flights and hotel separate. You could try the 2for 1 Virgin promo in another thread. (On page 2 of this thread That would def make it cheaper!!!

Definitely book them separately but do not book your hotel on arrival. Subscribe to the newsgroup alt.vacation.las-vegas and you will get super information both from locals and from people who travel there a lot.

    hi

i got married in Vegas a year past november, we booked the flights through trailfinders we only stayed in vegas 4 nights then we went to florida (vegas is fantastic but you can only stay for so long) our flights were around £400 each. we booked our accomodation direct with the hotel we stayed at the Circus circus and it was really reasonable and the accomodation was of a very good standard

    hope this helps
  • Went out to Las Vegas last year and booked accomadation through the following:

    https://www.travelzoo.com

Sign up for offers and you recieve top 20 deals from American travel sites every Thursday. We managed to get the Venitien(HIGHLY RECOMMENDED) for $129 a night, and I have seen this offer repeated since. If no offers grab you then just look through for deals on Vegas anyway..........allways a few on there(or any other American city).

Have a great time and come back loaded :0)
