pc stuck in sleep mode

my daughter left her comp in sleep mode as she normaly does, electric went off while we was out and now cant get comp out of sleep mode

we tried switching off and unplugging it over night but when switching it back on it has the usual blue light on power button and green cd/dvd light flashing, can hear it loading but not getting the beep it normaly does this is all its doing:confused::confused::confused::confused:

    Have you tried taking the battery out completely, leaving it for a few minutes (maybe longer?) and then trying again?

    Concur - Reseat bios battery and /or reset bios jumper.

    Should fix it.

    Never use sleep in vista its buggy as hell :o

    Is it a desktop or a laptop?? If it's a laptop you'll have a hard time getting to the jumpers.
    Sometimes i surprise myself by being right.

    I think this person was assuming its a laptop and just referring to the main laptop battery.... not any internal CMOS one

    Sorry, yes I was assuming a laptop not a desktop.
