Help!! I'm getting abuse on the boards...!!

Hello,

Please can someone advise if there is a way of blocking people from my posts?? I seem to be getting what can only be classed as bullied from two posters.

These sort of people make me want to leave the discussions as apparently only their advice is worthy.

Please advise

thanks

You can report abuse if you wish, if that helps.

    Abusive posts can be removed

If you click on their name and go to their profile you can add them to your ignore list and you wont be able to see any of their posts.

mariaadam, if you feel that someone is breaking forum rules you can report them by clicking on the red triangle on their posts.

If you wish to ignore other people, you can go onto their user profile and add them to your Ignore list.

Starting threads like this only tend to antagonise situations.

youre not being bullied you gave your opinion of something somone gave theres and you accused them of being abusive
so therefore it seems you are the bully na d not the victiim
also all that was said was you claimed to be a proffesional so you should becareful what you say as you could be held accountable

    so hows that bullying
Replies to posts are always welcome, If I have made a mistake in the post, I am human, tell me nicely and it will be corrected. If your reply cannot be nice, has an underlying issue, or you believe that you are God, please post in another forum. Thank you

I've just had a look at the thread I assume the OP is referring to, and I would agree with this.

OP, you need to differentiate between people disagreeing with you and people being abusive. I can only see the former in the thread in question.

I dont see any bullying either, just difference of opinion.

Perhaps if op is so sensitive maybe forums aren't the best place for them if they dont like people disagreeing with there views

In fact the only criticism I can find is this part from yours "How abusive can you be? I think you are a dreadful person"

You imply that you work in a Lettings Agency. It is strange that you are so ignorant of Tenancy Law.

    Hi Maria,
I've had a look at the thread in question. Yes, there are some people on there who took it upon themselves to jump on you and start trying to pick holes in what you said in rather a nasty way. The 'if you think you're so clever..' kind of comments when you were just making an innocent post or one intended to help.
Don't worry, you do get a lot of these 'types' on MSE. Don't let that put you off, there's lots of people who don't do that too!
And you get a lot of people who poopoo any mention of bullying.
Again, just ignore, some people are just smart@aarses who like to try to talk down to people and shoot them down for no reason.
You soon learn how to deal with them.

    :)

Alternatively you could take it upon yourself to bear a grudge against those who have disagreed with you, and follow them around the boards for the next year.

I'm not referring to anyone in particular, of course! :p
