I got a Medion Akoya E1210 netbook for last Christmas (took a lot of hints). It has 160gb disk, came with 1gb memory (have doubled it) and runs with XP (about to put Window 7 on it). It's still available from Medion at a cheaper price than hubby paid.

You do get a 3 year warranty with Medion.
I love it but I need to upgrade the battery for out and about. I would suggest a slightly bigger screen (11.5") would be better. For surfing Sunday mornings in bed with the newspapers, it's great.0 -

Have a look on the Argos clearance site on ebay, they sell refurbished and returned goods, have a good selection of netbooks from £160 upwards. We have had 2 laptops from them in the past, they all come with a full 12 month guarentee, we've had no problems with our laptops so far.

having just discovered the joy of cashback, mostly thanks to this site, i thought it's time to register here and share whatever i might find, as it seems a great site to squeeze a few extra pennies out here and there.
i just bought an acer one netbook, and first impressions are great. it's a little idiosyncratic because of the solid state hard drive (fast to read, very slow to write), so many people seem to think it's crap with win XP, whereas in fact with just a little messing about you can get a really good working XP install on this little, 1kg netbook. the processor is 1.6ghz, so it's up to the job. £133 on dabs (can't post a link as a new user, but search for aspire one, sort by price), cashback available! drop me a PM if you do end up with this, as i've spent a bit of time checking out how to get the machine to be a good XP netbook :beer:0 -
