Hi, i dont mind either new or second hand. Though he has his eye on an acer aspire..my ideal budget would be around two hundred pounds...but even that brings a tear to my eyes!!! I earn very little and like everyone the bills are high and the debt is higher!0

You could try cash converters for second hand.
Netbooks don't have a disc drive usually.
What will he use it for? Games? School work? How old is your son?
Found one on play.com for 199? Google search for netbook in shopping section bought up a few more below £200, but depends what it'll be used for.Payment a day challenge: £236.69

He is nearly 15 and wants it for email and facebook. He has a big desktop pc but he shares a room with his brother and wants to disappear sometimes without having him watch over his shoulder! I will have a look at play.com thanks. Im pretty useless at this shopping lark! Thankyou for taking the time to help me though, i really appreciate it!0

How about he Acer Aspire One D250 Netbook (10.1 inch LED LCD, Intel Atom N270, 1GB RAM, 160GB, Windows XP Home, Up To 3 Hour Battery, Red)?
It is £209.99 delivered from Amazon
There are cheaper netbooks, but not many. The cheaper netbooks tend to have Linux (not Windows XP), a smaller screen, smaller hard disk.

The Acer Aspire One is a horrible netbook! I had an EEE, killed it, and replaced it with an Acer. It last only a few months before I got sick of it and bought another EEE.Murphy's No More Pies Club #209
