In 4k of CC debt and declined GOSH card

I currently have two separate credit cards - Barclaycard(£3K debt - 2.5% min - £71/month) and Nationwide Classic(£1K debt - 3% min. payment - £30/month). I also have two current accounts with different banks. One of whom I have been with for 10 years.

I don't have any other adverse marks against me like CCJs or the like.

I'm paying about £71 interest/month on the Barclaycard and £30/month on the Nationwide.

Due to the benefits it offered, I applied for the GSOH card but they refused me.

I stated that I'm self employed and that my income is £8000. This seems to be why I was refused.

Any suggestions as I would very much like to reduce my payments where at all possible.

  • The problem is that the best cards for balance transfers are all by Bank of Scotland and so I won't be able to apply for another card with an adjusted income.
