Folks, I've just started using Martins budget planner spreadsheet. But I've got a general query, I can download my bank statements in ms money and ms quicken. I think they are both financial packages. I've not had the delight of using these and wondered if they would add any value other than a spreadsheet like martins budget planner. for example can they automatically analyse my spending?
I guess the thing with spreadsheets is that you have to maintain them, you have to check your spending assumptions are the same each month etc.
I've used a basic spreadsheet for years and its been ok. what I'd love is some package to say oi you've spent more than you said you would on groceries etc already this month. Or last month you failed your budget because of X.
I know its lazy but I like technology and wondered if anyone had any experience in this area so I could be lazy whilst being prudent with my money... thanks Zoe

Microsoft Money has a Budget included, I've not tried it but it's worth a look, perhaps you could use Martin's Budget Planner as a template.
Check the Help, there is a section devoted to Budget0
