Is o2 Broadband compatible with Primus as the landline providor?

Title says it really,

Currently I'm on BT with o2 Broadband and I want to switch my landline to Primus after reviewing this MSE Guide (which saves me £11 per month)! but before I change, I need to know if my o2 will be affected as it's the cheapest I can get (£7.38 per month for 8GB Unlimited).

Can anyone tell me if I can use both companies (I've emailed them but still waiting for a response).

Thanks,

The FAQ answer this in a roundabout way....

The only real disadvantage is that Wholesale Line Rental is only available to customers with a BT line!

Just like O2 they require you to have a BT line. All they do is take over the billing - it will still be a BT line so there will be no impact on your O2 service.
  • I've sent off an email to o2 broadband and to Primus - let's see what they say...

I would rather have it in writing first before there's any issues.

Response from Primus still not definitive...:

    Dear Customer,

    Thanks for the email.

The lines that we use are primarily BT lines. Our lines are compatible with most of the internet providers. However please check with O2 again before moving to Primus.

For the small difference in price it is well worth staying with BT for your line rental - they HAVE to let you use other providers - NONE of the others do, who can either charge you more or stop you altogether.

I use BT for my line rental, Primus as CPS, 18185 for daytime calls, o2 for BB.
    Very happy with that.
