Car boot in Bearsden/Milngavie

Hi, I also want to do this one in Milngavie but can't find any info online. Does anyone know what time to arrive for setting up and if the cost is still £10? I am worried about turning up late and not getting a spot. Also if anyone has any reviews that would be great. Thanks

THE popular Burnbrae car boot sale will start again this Sunday.

Hundreds of people were left disappointed after the event stopped last month.

For years, bargain hunters had made their way to the car park behind the former Halley’s showroom in Milngavie every Sunday morning - weather permitting.

The Halley brothers announced they were leaving their Burnbrae base and leasing the site to Arnold Clark, and the changeover meant a temporary halt to the sales and a period of uncertainty.

However, Ralph Halley, one of the directors of the long-running family firm, says he has been in discussion with Arnold Clark and has sorted out a number of problems - including access to toilets for pitch-holders - and the way is now clear for a sale to take place on Sunday, from 8am till noon.

He said: “I’m delighted to say the sales can re-commence. This is wonderful news as they really were a highlight of many people’s weekends.”

The news will also be a boon to charities, who benefit from the £10 pitch fee charged.

Cancer groups have been favoured in the past, as Mr Halley’s wife Fiona died from the disease in 1995, but money also goes to other good causes.
