If you haven't won for a while... have a little whinge!!!!

Well I've had another win today (and one yesterday)!! And I've adjusted my tactics!!!!!..... I've taken on board QPRanger suggestion they made in this post earlier in this thread too! Definitely don't try too hard! This works as well as a bit of whinging!
I've 'not been trying to hard' since I read their post and having the occasional whinge (in moderation...too much whinging is never a good look and the comping fairy doesn't like a grump ).
You sort of have to pretend you're not really bothered about winning. Some days I have been embarrassingly obsessed about winning (every time I hear a car I run to check if it's the postie/courier and I constantly check my phone/emails:p:p:p :eek:) - I never win on these "obsessed psycho comper" days!
Relax, act nonchalant - forget about winning! It's during these times (like when I'm sat on the loo, in the middle of cooking an involved meal, or knee deep in laundry) that the postie will knock or the phone will ring! :rotfl:

Remember, comping is supposed to be a fun hobby!

i totally agree! my oh has been half heartedly entering the odd comp and yet he won a phone!!

Me too! My OH hardly enters ANYTHING and he's won the Guitar Hero thing, the Magic Mix Up and some LFA boots in the past four or five weeks (which FYI are in my sig because what he wins is mine and what I win is mine ). I have only won a personilised fairy book (which I am still grateful for comping fairy) and yet I OBSESS over entering since I have been on maternity leave (it's between this and CBeebies!!).

I so very much want my first win this year. I only started comping on 1st December but I've entered over 1000 competitions (I'd tell you the exact number but you'd think I was obsessive ) and I'd read someone somewhere on this forum say a ratio of 1 win to 1000 entries is average.

I know I know...there's no such things as average in comping but that's my story and I'm sticking to it!

Ultimately it's all down to luck and you could enter 5,000 comps and never see a win (gosh, how soul destroying would that be :eek:)


So far in December I've entered 2978 (50 a day is advents) - (me .......... obsessive...... :rolleyes: ) - I've won 5 prizes KEEP AT IT! When I first started online comping it took me about 4 weeks before I saw a win. I now win approx 10 comps a month (except November which was a totally rubbish month....hence me starting this thread ....but December has more than made up for it now!)

You'll find a lot of the comps you've entered won't close for a while yet either, so you may well have a brilliant start to 2010 even if you don't get anything before xmas! Fingers crossed for your first win. :T :j

only really started this month too, so far i've won 2 peroni coasters, a rizla tin, now 74 on emi's instant win game and a john smiths shirt, not a bad haul in three weeks, but i don't use tobacco for rizla tin, don't like the music on now 74, don't play darts and have coasters coming out of my ears, really appreciate that i've won anything, but please comping fairy could my next win be something i can use.

Just having a little whinge not won anything lately but have to admit not been able to enter as many comps as I'd like to, life keeps getting in the way!!! how very inconsiderate of it! Nice to come here thou and have a small whinge and hopefully the comping fairy will bring me something nice to end the year?!
