Does anyone know if the PS3 Eyecamera is supposed to be compatible with the old PS2 Eyetoy games?
The PS3 recognises that the Eyecamera is plugged in and it works fine for video chat but the Eyetoy game tells you to plus in the Eyetoy camera.
Is there some reason that the PS3 camera doesn't work with the PS2 game?
(We have the PS2 camera but it's a PITA keep changing the cameras over and repositioning them!)

Not sure about the eye, but the eyetoy has two LEDs around the side which is why you can reset games by holding your hand over the lens (it basically makes the led pulse red, the eyetoy detects it and knows to reset the game). If the eye doesn't have that, it won't work in a very important way.
Also, theyre both completely different cameras. I'd wager the eye is higher resolution for one thing.0 -
The PS2 eyetoy will work on the PS3 but the PSEye won't work on the PS2..........What if the Hokey Pokey really is what it's all about !!!0
