What I want to know is how could anyone leave chocolate eclairs in the fridge uneaten until their use-by date!? Anyway I would think they would be totally safe for at least a day over their date, maybe longer, I would definitely risk it! :D

Its a BEST BEFORE date, not a POISONOUS BY date!! LOL x were they good?

I didnt feel well enough to eat them last night, same reason they didnt get eaten at the weekend (had my swine flu jab and its made me a bit off colour). But when i looked in the fridge this morning hoping to see if they would be ok for lunch time/ tea time they were gone , and as my mother is the only other person in the house she must have chucked them out:mad: . Well all i can say is glad it was her 50p that got binned, and not mine (even if i technically payed for them with my rent/board).

Chocolate eclairs cannot tell the time and if its the next day they don't know that .Just eat them up If they were off you would soon notice and spit it out.
One of my Dd's is a bit like that and bins everything if it so much as goes past midnight ,she drives me nuts .I was brought up in an era where if the chees was a bit hairy you cut that bit off and ate the rest. The jam could sometimes get a bit of mould on it and again just scoop that bit off and eat it .I am 67 and well past my sell by date but I'm still going strong.:)
  • Well i just went to the fridge and found there was one cream and chocolate eclair left......To then look and see it was 2 day out of date.....So i thought '!!!!!! this' and i have ate it.....
Tasted fab, no smell, still tasted fresh and was heaven to eat.
So i guess i will say yep its fine to eat them if they are only a couple of day out of date x
