I have been aimlessly trying to connect to my sky broadband hub, wirelessly, to no avail. I have tried everything and have phone the tecnical support people 3 times, the last time it did connect for 2 minutes them everything that the guy did with me over the phone dissappeared, he stated that there is something wrong with my wireless card in my laptop, but I can connect wirelessly to other people wirless networks (i took it to a pub and it connected). Please help, I am pulling out my hair. I used to have BT which was great

    Hi Pete
I presume you've just moved over to Sky? when we moved over to Sky from Orange we couldn't connect; i tried everything that the Sky guys told me to do. In the end i managed to speak to someone who knew exactly what he was talking about and he found out that the problem was on the phone line; he checked my line and it was still saying i was with Orange; BT engineer had not switched over the line correctly. So they had to contact them and sort it; it's worked brilliantly ever since
Do all the lights turn green and stay on; or are they a different colour and flickering? If they are not all green and staying on then it's the line and/or router.
Tell them that there's nothing wrong with your computer as you can get on other peoples networks. Also do you know anyone who can pop round with their own laptop and try to connect at yours? That way you can also prove it's not your computer

    Hope this helps
