Royvon Dog training and boarding kennels

Pleased to read you had a good experience as ours was distressing for both us and our very much loved dog.
We would advise those who are considering this place to think again.
The staff are lovely although the turnover is high but the main aim in this place is to make money money money. Look at reviews on independent websites not solely at Royvons glossy material. Unfortunately, these reviews were not online when we visited Royvon in Esher last year and to be frank we should have followed our gut instincts. However, we thought this is a professional training centre and our initial hesitation regarding the owners lack of warmth or interest was pushed aside. This was an error for which we will always feel guilt.
Our experience was as follows:
A dog who was returned to us a nervous wreck, untrained, had lost so much weight his ribs were clearly visible and he took several weeks to realise he was safe and home. His bad habits of pulling and jumping had worsened in addition to being scared of gusts of wind. We will not go into further detail but suffice to say this is NOT the place in our opinion to put your dog for training or boarding. Heartbreaking.0 -
Well this thread is really interesting and i'm wondering whether i would have made a different decision if i'd read it before last week!!!
Harvey our labradoodle has been at royvon for just over a week and i know on the posts plp have said its not a good thing but it really is a last resort as we have spent a small fortune on behaviourists and are finding it more and more difficult to take him out. He has big issues with other dogs and we have friends with labradoodles and they are just so friendly, bouncing round and i just want Harvey to have the same enjoyment of playing with other dogs instead of bullying them. I can't leave him off lead and he really pulls on the lead at other dogs that i have actually fallen and let go of the lead - well there was allsorts of trouble which ended in tears.
Back to Royvon, First impressions: Clean premises and friendly staff slighty smaller than i thought it would be but there were dogs out having play sessions in field who seemed to be having ball (please please Harvey be able to interact with dogs like that). We met Harveys trainer Paula and spent 30mins going through everything and since then we have had a few updates on how he is and a photo and she says training is going well. So fingers crossed i get an experience like miamoo but will keep you posted, we are missing him like crazy especially the kids so it better be worth!0 -
Just back to report quick update just in case there are any other dog owners out there who were at their wits end like we were. I was a little concerned reading the review off this is it as Harvey was already there and we were happy with who we spoke to and what we saw you can't help but feel anxious. However Harvey has been home a little over a week now and boy are we pleased that we found Royvon. He is the same dog but just so obedient he was always quite good in the house but jumped up on visitors this has now ceased and on the lead he is an angel (it seems that way to us as walks were becoming hell!).
Its not easy we have had to really listen to everything they taught us and put new rules in place to show harvey that we are the bosses (no more on the couch i'm afraid) we were there 3 hours and they were really patient and encouraging we went out on the road, to the local shops and his improvement really has gone beyond our belief. We weren't supposed to go to the park till week 3 of him being home but thought we would go there early yesterday morning when its quite quiet and he greeted 2 dogs on seperate occassions without pulling and we actually let him off the lead and he came back!!! We understand we have to keep it up thats the important part now but royvon have said we can go back for free sessions if we ever need to so the help is there. Next step will be playing nicely with our labradoodle friends.
He came back in great shape, they updated me throughout put pictures on line of him out playing & training then text me to tell me they were there.
I recieved an email yesterday asking me to post a review on a website as they want genuine customers who have been there reviewing them. So there should be alot more information about in future as these forums aren't always the easiest to find.0 -

Yes. that is the same organisation.
I have to ask, if they can make such a mistake over such a basic care level, what other mistakes are they making? Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0 -
Yes it makes you wonder doesn't it. The way the dog died made no sense at all. It was something that could easily have been prevented, but they obviously didn't care enough. I find it disgraceful. If dogs don't go to heaven, then I want to go where they go. :A0
