There is generally a lack of decent 5 star hotels in India, therefore prices are generally high with low availibilty, hence the expense.0

Where will you be arriving in Mumbai?
What I would suggest is do your research on the AFFORDABLE luxury hotels in Mumbai - like the Orchid.
The best way to get a good deal is to then approach the brokers at the airport and haggle aggressively for your range.
For instance you can say I need hotel just for one night and my limit is Rs X thousand.
Chances are they will respond with "why dont u spend a little more and we can get you this?"
Haggle and haggle and haggle and you will get a very very good deal. Better than any internet site.
Its leaving it to chance but can be worthwhile.0 -
Do you want a luxury hotel or something clean and reasonable?
Try the Residency Hotel in the Fort area or Shelleys Hotel in Colaba. Both are clean, have running hot water and good service.0 -
we going to stay in juhu beach area...
and aint after a 5star hotel our budget is around £30-40 a n8 as we require 2 rooms and wnt be in hotel more than 9 hours n dats n8 only so dnt wish to pay big money just to sleeep0 -
Try the Juhu hotel - we saw it when we went in Dec - clean and reasonable - but fully booked. Very popular so I reckon it must be good.
Also the Citizen hotel is supposed to be good - we opted for the Holiday Inn only because we had a 12 year old with us and you get 2 double beds per room at the Holiday Inn.0
