He has a point. I just lifted this text, it put it better than I could explain it ;-) "...people who game online with remote players often prefer a static IP address. When they return to a game, the hosting server recognizes them, restoring score, placement in the game, and other settings accordingly. A static IP is more reliable than a computer cookie that can be deleted."I wouldn't say that I was technically minded either but most Internet Providers will let you have a dynamic address0 -
Quick question ref Cashback sites - when I click through on a link from the Cashback Site to a company, do I need to register with that company using the same e-mail address that I use on the Cashback site?
Reason I ask is that I have a seperate e-mail account for the Cashback site that I use so that all the spam etc that I recieve doesn't clog up my main e-mail account. But I now want to get O2 Broadband and for that I would register my main e-mail account with O2 after clicking through a Cashback site.
Would I still get the cashback using different e-mail addresses?0 -

Personally I would sign up to O2 using your cashback email address and once everything is set up change it to your personnal e mail address. I expect it can be done on line once your O2 account is set up. It's not worth taking the risk especially as the cashback on broadband sign ups is usually a fair amount.0 -
Is anybody else having a problem with cashback cascade? Only i've done all the daily clicks the last couple of days and not a single thing is showing as tracked?0

Over £150 per year:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
Have just gone through the top 6 sites I normally click on and my daily total has gone done by at least £1.50. Am not happy. Couldn't be bothered to go through the rest of the sites but I imagine at least another 20p-50p down. Couldn't check Cash & Chief, but expecting to lose most of the Weallshop clicks as well as I've been doing them in batches of 12. We'll see what happens tomorrow when Mrs Click Updater is back.
I wasn't aware that some of these cashback sites were run by a handful of people and that anyone could set them up, I always thought they were medium-sized/big companies. How naive I've been. When you hear that owners have had to re-mortgage their house to the tune of £50K to pay clickers after they weren't paid by a company it makes you think how lucky we are to get paid at all!
Have also been barred from HSW, though hopefully if I wait a while they will let me on again (just like they did for Diffusion).
Life is knowing which bridges to burn and which bridges to build! :think:

I'll give Sky a call later. Just need to find out now if having a dynamic IP will affect logging back on / the computer recognising the new IP address after re-set. Son has begged the question re: his computer & his Xbox (suggesting that he'll need to re-enter the new IP address each time).
You're both far more technically minded than me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!He has a point. o2/Be's idea of 'dynamic' is that it changes about every year or so. I figure that since it's only £7.50 a month it's not worth changing to a more expensive properly dynamic ISP for the sake of being able to do a few extra HighStreetWeb or Pricedigger clicks.
I never gave gaming a thought so thanks' for pointing that out moi, I would like a dynamic IP too, but I am happy with O2 and I agree with you, I know how hard it is to find a decent provider. I am tempted by the cashback to try Sky though.
There are programmes/software that will change or hide your IP but I haven't used any so can't recommend themIf you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours0 -

Some cashback sites are run by people as young as 12/13 year olds :eek:
most notably on WOW media/Your Brand sites as they are so easy to set up!
They usually start off ok but...
Forgot to say that if you can try turning the router off for a little while to get a new IP address If you have a Dynamic IP, this wont work if yours is Static though but HSW will still 'forgive' you in a week or so.If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours0
