Draughts Galore!!!!!

Hey, has anybody got draughts in their property and what do you do???

I have draughts through my new PVC front door, old PVC patio door, kitchen larder, (even though covered air bricks) meter cupboard, air fans and goodness knows where else!!

I have had to resort to making a wind break beside my arm-chair!!

Landlords tenancy guide says the tenant is responsible for draught excluders!!

The front and patio door probably just need adjusting so that they pull shut properly - look on the hinges and around the bolts for adjustment screws - usually need a hex key. In places like the meter cupboard you're probably best off using expanding foam to seal the holes where the cables and pipes come in.

Air fans? Surely the purpose of a fan is to create a draught?

If you know where the source of the draughts are, then use a bit of common sense and do something about them. All it takes is a bit of thought and you will be able to block off the worst of them. At the risk of being told off for quoting a cliche! "It ain't rocket science" Just investigate them one at a time.

The air fans are in the Kitchen and Bathroom windows and are switched off BUT air still blows in! The vents are only suppose to open only when switched on.

I think the combination of draughts make it a problem. It's not easy to pin down every potential draught. This building is very old and has loads of nooks and crannies.

Does Stick on Draught-Excluder work?? Maybe attempting to seal my Kitchen and Living Room doors to keep my Living room less draughty!

Obviously its not easy to pin down all the draughts at once, but you can make a start. If you cannot find them I am not sure how you can expect people on here to. With the best will in the world. Draught excluder seems to be a good place to start.
