You can book direct with the airport.

The only lounges worth going to won't let you pay to get in. I'd seriously question the quality of any lounge that let you pay to enter.Legal team on standby0

No. All of the decent lounges (ie BA's Galleries product) you cannot pay to enter. They have the best facilities, proper food and drinks, showers, spa therapies and even a cinema in T5 !
You gain entry by either holding status with them (ie are a frequent flyer), or are flying on a business or first class ticket.
Some ripoff companies offer a pay-to-enter lounge to non-business, non-status passengers, but the food is terrible, and there are limited drinks options. You'd be better getting a decent sit-down meal in one of the many air-side options.Legal team on standby0 -
Yes..have you,for instance, checked the Virgin trains first class lounge in Euston..? some half wit decided to put it upstairs so you have to drag half a ton of bags up to get in!! ROTFL
The departure lounge at the airport suits me fine!Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0 -

that's fine if you have status - if you don't the lounges at manchester are actually very very good (and i've been in the galleries at Heathrow).
we went in the lounge at T2 at mancs last July - completely free bar with wines, spirits, and champagne, soft drinks, cereals etc (it was early am) and it was about £35 for two of us.
ok, so its not the BA galleries, but neither is it the departure lounge, which in Manchester are not that great imho.
try holiday extras - i usally book them through there and usually you can get quidco as well0 -

Be careful with that recommendation... If you were in the escape lounge in T2, then thats run by a different company than the Styal/Bollin/Wilmslow lounges which are all standard Servisair fayre. The escape lounge usually has sandwhiches and snacks, a better selection of drinks and quite often a nicer dragon to help you if you need anything.
For the servisair lounges, expect cheese & crackers, crisps and nuts, cake and biscuits, some fruit, a reasonable selection of hot, cold and alcoholic drinks, but not the ritz
I'm quite anal about turning up well before my flights, and I view £15-£20 for 3 hours of peace and quiet, some inclusive booze and snacks, some TV and a nice place to sit as a decent enough deal... I appreciate that others may not, however.0 -

The Escape Lounge at terminal 2 is brilliant and a great way to start the holiday, but to be honest the servisair lounges are very mediocre, and not worth the money (in my opinion).I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0
