Balance transfer payment made to current account

A while back I took out a credit card balance transfer with The Post Office and they made the payment to my current account. However, just recently I wanted to pay off a personal loan by using a low interest credit card but they won't pay into my current account nor accept transfer of the funds from the loan.

Is there any way I can pay off the personal loan with the new amount of credit I have just recently been given?

Many thanks

Do you still ahve the post office card?
Could you do a balance transfer from your post office card to pay off the loan and then balance transfer from your post office card to your new card.

There may be some interest for the intervening days and you would need to investigate any fees and charges as there will be an outstanding balance on the post office card for a week or so.

You could try looking at Egg fort his purpose.

Depends on whether you have time to open a new account and how much the charges are to do it as I suggested.
If it's only a few quid it might not be worth worrying about.
But you do need to check it out first.
  • Many thanks for that reply.

I think i will wait a few months till my post office card is reduced and try again with a different card.

Does anyone know which credit card companies doing balance transfers pay to current account?
  • MBNA definitely do as I have just requested one with a fee of 4%, they will also transfer a maximum of 95% of your credit limit.
  • RBS also allow this.

Until the last few days it was only available via request over the phone but since they updated their online system, you can now do it via digital banking.
