???
Lately I have had a few problems when tring to access certain web sites, (whsmiths being one). WHen I try and access the site my browser goes to the page, but before it is displayed it shuts down all the open IE windows I have open.
It is now affecting my Ebay selling page, I can go to the sell page but when I press the "sell at an online auction" button it exits IE.
I have restored my system to a point when I last listed an itemon ebay but this has not worked. I need help please, Ive got stuff to sell but I cant list it.
Thanks

Sounds like a corrupt plugin / browser helper object.
Internet Explorer: Tools -> Internet Options-> Programs -> Manage Addons
Either disable all or disable one at a time until the problem disappears.
You could always try using Firefox.Hug provider for depression thread :grouphug:

This is the relevant one by Godders:-
Your problem may be less serious than Fran's was.
1st check to see if you have had your hosts file hijacked:
1. Navigate in explorer to C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc (if you are using XP) or c:\windows (if you are using windows 95/98)
2. Double click on the file 'hosts' and when you are asked what to use to open it choose notepad.
3. Look for an entry for symantec along the lines of:
127.0.0.1 https://www.symantec.com
(I put these the wrong way round originally - sorry)
if there is one there then delete the whole line. In fact, unless you have put anything in there yourself the only one that belongs there is
127.0.0.1 localhost
2nd Update your antivirus and it should find the virus responsible.
