Me and DD just arrived home from London! Wow I'm so tired!
About an hour after we got to the hotel, we got in the lift but got off at the wrong floor so we had to call another. Inside the other lift was a man and his nan. We got talking and he asked why we were there. DD told him we were there for the St Trinians 2 premiere and he said he was too. DD then said to him "No, we're here to actually walk the red carpet and go in and watch it!"
He replied "Oh cool, well...so am I - I'm in it" Complete jaw-drop moment!!:rotfl: It turns out that this man was Christian Brassington who plays Peters (David Tennant's kinda assistant) His nan was staying a couple of rooms down from ours and they were both lovely!
When we got to the Empire, we did walk the red carpet but a miserable security bloke made us go straight into the cinema so we didn't get to meet any celebs there
We were sat in the third row so when the stars of the film were up on stage we had a perfect view, but that was when we realised that David Tennant wasn't there!!
:(:(
The film was really good. DD was laughing the whole way through it, but did get a bit scared in places. After, we hung around in the cinema for a bit as DD wanted to get Sarah Harding's (Girls Aloud) autograph. We ended up about a metre away from her but she had security guards surrounding her, rushing her out - so with that, and David Tennant not being there, DD ended up in floods of tears (she's only 8)
The next day we went down to check out and Christian Brassington's Nan was sitting in the lobby waiting for him to pick her up. She asked if we'd enjoyed the premiere so we sat chatting to her for a bit. Then DD decided to ask if she could wait with her to ask Christian for his autograph and she said yes. Aww she was such a lovely lady!
Christian arrived and he wrote a lovely message in DD's autograph book and I took a photo of them together
DD was over the moon - it really made the whole trip for her. If Christian or his Nan read this I really want to say a HUGE thankyou to both of you - you really cheered up my daughter!:A:j:D
Anyway, after that we went exploring London. We went straight from the hotel in Leicester Square, to Trafalgar Square, then Buckingham Palace, then to the London Eye, across the Millennium Bridge, back across London Bridge, over to St Paul's Cathedral where we finally could not walk any more, so we jumped in a cab (which was driven by a lovely, wonderful man called Mick) and went to Hamley's on Regent Street as a big surprise to DD. To say she was awe-struck was a bit of an understatement! :rotfl::rotfl: We went to lots of other places between those I've said, but don't wanna write a whole massive list of everything we saw!
We had walked almost non-stop for about 4 hours  and now my feet are hurting and swollen so badly that they're practically double the size!
Although DD was upset, we had a really wonderful time and we are extremely greatful to The Sun for giving us the opportunity to do this and to BlackMidnight for posting the comp!:j:T:A
Thankyou!!!!!
I will post pictures soon, I just need a bit of time to recover before I go digging around for the camera wires! OMG I think that's my longest ever post! :rotfl:0 -
WOW what A Great experience you guys had... thank you for filling us in!
The security on the red carpets are bouncers and are always like that... its hard even getting a photo of yourself on the red carpet!.. on the prem we went to on tuesday we tried to sneak back out the cinema to get back on the red carpet... but they were having none of it!
Glad you met the lovely people in the hotel!
